While others are busy biking along city's environs, take a break and sneak a trip to see Kronborg Castle near Elsinore City or Helsingor, 50 kms from Copenhagen.  If you don't know it yet, this castle was immortalized by Shakespeare in his play, Hamlet.  Today the castle, which is actually a fortress, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  To reach the area, get yourself to the Copenhagen Central Station for a ride to Elsinore Station.  From the Station you can already see the Castle, which is about a 20 minute walk away.  

If you are going there by car, drive along the North Sealan coast or take the E-47 towards Helsingor.  This is one place to see during summer when the sun stays up until 10 p.m. or about 8 hours a day.  This castle should definitely be in your travel schedule.

 When the sun shines longer during summer, everyone gets the urge to soak in the sun.  Picnics and biking, and promenading in the park are free activities everyone squeezes into their day.  If you want to max out on your Copenhagen summer holiday, take to the beach or to nearby islets to experience breath-taking sunset views.
