Copenhagen City Guide

Are you and your significant other currently thinking about taking a vacation to a foreign country?  If so, I would highly recommend that you give some serious consideration to going to Copenhagen, Denmark.  The reason I say this is that there is truly a wide variety of really fun and interesting things to see and do over there!

For starters, Copenhagen is home to Tivoli Gardens which is a simply fabulous amusement park!  Tivoli Gardens offers a variety of fun amusement park rides, concerts from various musical ensembles, mimes, ballet dancers, playgrounds, and much, much more!  Also, there are more than two dozen places to dine here.  No matter what your age is, you are sure to find at least a few things that suit your fancy at Tivoli Gardens.  If you do decide to visit Tivoli Gardens, you will want to try to time your visit just right so as not to miss the spectacular fireworks that they set off twice a week right around the stroke of midnight!

Do you enjoy all things having to do with royalty?  If so, I am quite sure that you will be thrilled to know that there are some exceptionally beautiful castles available for you to visit in Copenhagen.  Amalienborg Palace is where the royal family currently resides, and if you visit there at noon time, then you will get to experience the thrill of witnessing the changing of the guards!  If you love fancy jewels and ornate thrones, then you will want to be sure to go and visit the Rosenberg Castle as their fine collection of those things surely won't disappoint! There are also several other fine castles in the area, in addition to the ones that I have already mentioned.

Do you love to shop?  If so, you will be happy to know that there are a wide variety of great places to go shopping in Copenhagen!  There are two large shopping malls in the area, Frederikberg Centret Shopping Mall and Fisketorvet.  Both malls have quite a few different excellent stores to choose from.  One advantage of going to Fisketerorvet over the Frederiksberg Centret Shopping Mall is that in addition to stores, it also offers a movie theatre.  Are you a big fan of designer fashion brands such as Luis Vuitton and Prada?  If so, then you will want to be sure to check out Stroget!  If going flea market shopping is more your style, Gammel Strand is a great one.  Here you can find all sorts of unique treasures, and they even have some outdoor coffee shops there.

Perhaps you enjoy modern art.  If this is true, then I would highly encourage you to check out The Louisiana Museum of Modern Art during your stay in Copenhagen.  If you have children that you are bringing with you on this trip, then bringing them for a visit to this museum is a must have as the fun, hands on activities they have for the kids here are just fantastic!  One of the highlights that this museum offers for adults is their gorgeous 20th century sculpture collection with works by Giacommeti and Henry Moore, just to name a few.

While you are vacationing in Copenhagen, you of course will need a place to stay.  Fortunately, there is a wide range of Copenhagen Hotels  available for you to choose from.  Staying in a hotel in Copenhagen is a great way to ensure that you will enjoy your stay there, as nearly all the hotels in that area offer truly wonderful accommodations to help make your stay both pleasurable and relaxing.

I wish you the best of luck, and I hope that you have a wonderful time while vacationing in Copenhagen! Plese do not forget to visit our Copenhagen Travel Guide for further Information.
